The Kids Are Alright

The kids Are Alright is a perfect film to see with friends on a Saturday afternoon. It is about an unconventional family its problems. The kids, laser (Josh Hutcherson) aged 15 and Joni (Mia Wasikowska) aged 18, have two mothers Nic and Jules. Nic’s a doctor and a perfectionist, and Jules was almost an architect once and is now maybe sort of kind of thinking about landscape design.

The family is alright in the beginning, but the trouble starts when the sperm donor, Paul, appears when he receives a phone call from Joni. Paul will turn upside down the family. Some people could think that The Kids Are Alright tries to normalize homosexual families, but actually, the fact that Jules and Nic are lesbians and have two kids seem very normal in the film. That is helped by the good work of the actors in this movie.

The film, generally, is very funny. Every Laser´s comment makes laugh. However, it is the typical American film: a happy family with a big house and a good car, but then the interloper appears and the family starts having problems. However, in the end the family sorts out the problems and they are again happy. To sum up, I recommend this entertaining film to everybody, if you are not against lesbian families. If you are, change your mind, The Kids Are Alright.
